Privacy Policy for Tallywise

Tallywise ("the app", "we", "us") is a tally counter app that lets you count things, save the results with notes, and export them later. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and how you can control it.

Information we collect

Account information

To use Tallywise you create an account using your email address (via a sign-in link), or your Apple or Google account if you choose those options. We receive your email address and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the name and email associated with that account.

Counting data

The app stores the counting sessions you create: session names, counter names and values, notes you write, templates used, and export status. This data is stored on your device and, because your account is signed in, is also backed up to our cloud database so it is not lost if you change devices or reinstall the app.

Purchase information

If you purchase Tallywise Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple or Google and verified through RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. We receive confirmation of your purchase and entitlement status, but we do not receive your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple or Google.

Advertising identifiers

If you use the free version of the app, we show ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device advertising identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads. We do not control how AdMob uses this data; it is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

App settings

Preferences such as dark mode, sound choice, and haptic feedback are stored on your device and, while signed in, synced to our cloud database so they carry across devices.

What we do not collect

Tallywise does not request access to your camera or photo library, and the app does not collect or store images. We do not collect your precise location. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

How we use this information

• To provide the core functionality of the app: counting, saving, and exporting your sessions
• To back up and sync your data across your devices
• To verify and manage your Tallywise Pro purchase
• To show ads in the free version of the app (Google AdMob)
• To respond to support requests if you contact us

Third-party services

Tallywise relies on the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication. See Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
• RevenueCat — manages in-app purchase verification. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
• Google AdMob — serves ads in the free version of the app. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
• Apple / Google Sign In — if you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, those companies process your sign-in according to their own privacy policies.

Data retention and deletion

Your counting sessions and account data are retained for as long as your account exists. You can delete individual counting sessions at any time from within the app. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Account → Delete account. This immediately and permanently removes your account, your counting sessions, and your settings from our database. This action cannot be undone.

Data security

Your data is transmitted using encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored in a database protected by row-level security, meaning only you can access your own data through the app.

Children's privacy

Tallywise is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your rights

If you are located in the UK or EU, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app (editing your sessions and settings, or deleting your account). For anything else, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
